Virginia C. Vinson, 89, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:53 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born March 23, 1926, in San Jacinto, Miss Vinson was the daughter of Logan and Juliet Shuck Vinson. 

Miss Vinson did clerical work at Grissom Air Force Base in Peru, Bakalar Air Base in Columbus and was a secretary for the Jennings County Extension Office. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a graduate of Butlerville High School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and doing needlework.

Survivors include her nephews, Max (Rose Ann) Wiley of Scipio, Jan (Cynthia) Wiley of Greenfield, Gerry (Roxy) Wiley of La Porte and Larry (Sara) Vinson of Owensboro, Kentucky; a niece, Sharon Whitehead of Versailles; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Miss Vinson was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Francis Vinson; a sister, Shirley Wiley; and a nephew, Billy Vinson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Bro. Ricky Persons officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 4 until 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may made through the funeral home to Bethel Baptist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
