• Jackie Speaker and Cathy Amos for making all the vases with flowers and flags for the veterans in the assisted living and long-term care facilities in Bartholomew County, from the DAR Joseph Hart Chapter.

• the senior center for the lovely Veterans Day program on Nov. 11, from Cathy Amos.

• George Morales for having the courage to run for county commissioner, from a neighborhood friend.

• The Republic for giving child porn, difficulty breathing, a car dealer sign and a Thanksgiving dinner front page and terror attacks buried in the paper.

• the driver of the pickup truck at the entrance to the east side Walmart in the straight lane, who turned the same way I did, almost causing an accident.

• The Republic for putting a small story about the terrorist attack on page A6 when it should have been front-page news.

• co-workers in the lab who use my pencil sharpener all the time and don’t clean up after themselves.

• those responsible for school safety as an erratic person got in and he just as easily could have been armed and harmed people.

• those who think that hiring five new people a year for two years calls for a tax abatement.

• letter writers who don’t have their facts straight when submitting a letter to the editor, proving they are uninformed.

• a member of a local commission for confirming with an applicant that it’s OK for them to continue the applicant’s request when the applicant has outstanding compliance issues over 10 years old.

• for the people who abuse the service and rake the leaves into the street.

• people writing letters to the editor who really don’t know what they are talking about.

• the two stores for not honoring a military discount except on select items.

• the elected officials who decided to give county employees a taxable bonus rather than use the money to decrease the cost of county employees’ health insurance.

• the school that had bingo on Friday night for selling hard nacho chips with too little cheese that was awful and had to be thrown away anyway.

• family members for bringing up family issues when trying to go out and have fun.

• the person who put in the Onion about the county employee bonuses.

• The Republic for not putting the Paris attacks on the front page.

• the city for many streets in Columbus without curbs as this is a safety issue.

• the trailer court that does not take care of the 10 vacant lots around me.

• the person for an unprofessional presentation to county employees regarding health insurance.
