Kid-friendly ideas for break week

With schools on Thanksgiving break this week in Columbus, here are some ideas for keeping the kids busy while you defrost that turkey.

Chaotic Tuesday

If you think it’s chaotic at your house, take the kids to The Commons to watch the Chaos 1 sculpture roll some loud cannonballs into action. The Ivy Tech Community College visual communications department will invite kids to create their own version of Chaos on paper by providing drawing supplies.

When: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday

Kids can burn off some energy exploring the Thanksgiving-themed activities this week at kidscommons this week, open every day except Thursday.

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week, except for Thanksgiving Day.

Skate with Santa

Kids can skate with Santa or have their picture taken with him, with craft activities complementing the jolly visit.

When: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday

Where: Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive

Admission: $7.50, which in-cludes skate rental and crafts
