Ronald L. Rhodes, 73, of Columbus, passed from this life at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Rhodes was born February 24, 1942, in Crawford County, Indiana, to Cecil C. and Goldie Speedy Rhodes. He married Judy A. Atkins July 10, 1964.
Mr. Rhodes retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1998 after 34 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and building grandfather clocks, as well as other things.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judy; sons, James Rhodes of Columbus and David (Tricia) Rhodes of Manassas Park, Virginia; grandchildren, Ryan, Peyto, and Ashley Rhodes; four nieces; and a nephew.
Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Gilliatt; a brother, Paul Rhodes; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Rhodes; and a nephew.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Jerry K. Day Sr. officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
