Norvel Ed Jones, 56, of State Road 46 East, died at 10:44 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Norvel was born October 4, 1959, in Decatur County, the son of Ralph and Linda White Jones. He married Kathy McAnelly December 23, 1996.
Norvel served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was currently employed at Quality Machine & Tool.
He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and NASCAR fan.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jones officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery with military honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Flintwood Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; sons, William Jones and Jacob Jones, both of Jackson County, and Casey (Jessica) Jones of Franklin; daughters, Nicole Jones of Greensburg, Tanisha (Joe) Chaney and Shaylah Jones, both of Indianapolis; a sister, Sara Nash of Greensburg; his uncle, Ronald Washburn of Greensburg; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
