Program needs a few last-minute Christmas elves

The Columbus Salvation Army, the Centra Foundation and the Shop With a Cop program could use a few last-minute Christmas elves.

The Centra Foundation’s Angel Trees featuring children and teens’ Christmas wishes, in simple dollar amount terms, are only about 30 percent filled — and the deadline to fill them all is Saturday.

The trees, in six Centra Credit Union branches in Columbus, are meant to allow the public to help with the Salvation Army’s program in providing gifts for families in need and also Shop With a Cop’s mission to take youngsters shopping for their holiday wishes. People simply take an item off a tree in the Centra lobby and take it to the counter with whatever amount of money the donor wishes to give.
