Columbus woman arrested on drug charges

A Columbus woman was arrested on drug dealing charges following a traffic stop.

At about 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, Columbus Police Department Patrolman Lucas Nibarger initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near State and Hinman streets. While speaking with the driver, 34-year-old Stephanie R. Minor, Nibarger smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to a news release.

During a search of Minor’s vehicle, officers discovered a sealed cardboard box. A search warrant to open the box was obtained and officers located approximately two pounds of marijuana and one pound of methamphetamine inside.

Minor was arrested and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where she was booked in on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, dealing in marijuana and possession of marijuana.

CPD K-9 Officer John Searle and detectives from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted.
