Gregory Dale Taylor (WE9M), 65, of Sardinia passed away at 7:37 p.m., Friday, December 25, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 1, 1950, in Greensburg, the son of Richard H. and Ruby D. (Beale) Taylor.

He was lifelong resident of the Alert and Sardinia communities in Decatur County. He graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1968 and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1998 after 30 years of service. He also had worked for Baltus Electronics.

He was a member of Sardinia Baptist Church, a life member of the Bass Angler Sportsman Society, National Rifle Association, A.R.R.L. and R.A.C.E.S. His hobbies included amateur radio, shooting his guns and watching television.

He married Pamela W. Nisbet in Westport on March 30, 1974, and she survives.

Also surviving is his daughter, Leah (Aaron) Nugent of Westport; son, Doug Taylor of Sardinia; brother, Tony (Sandy) Taylor of North Vernon; and grandsons, Cole and Corey Nugent of Westport.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Wayne Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor John Lowry officiating. Burial will be at Westport Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
