Michael Collins, 58, of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbus, died Jan. 1, 2016, at his Indianapolis residence.

Mr. Collins had previously been employed by American Wood Molding. He had lived in Indianapolis for 19 years and had occasionally attended Columbus Baptist Church.

Mr. Collins graduated from Columbus East High School in 1975.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Jewell‐Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kennedy officiating. Calling will be from 2 until service time at the funeral home.

As per Mr. Collins’ wishes, he will be cremated.

Mr. Collins loved his English Bulldogs, his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed all sports and music of all kinds, especially classic Rock and Roll.

Memorials may be made to he Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Mr. Collins was born in Columbus, Indiana, on June 14, 1957. He was the son of Richard and Pansy (Hubbard) Collins, who preceded him in death.

He married Ruby L. Hunter in Sept. 2005. She survives.

Also surviving are his son, Shawn (Chrystal) Collins of Columbus; sisters, Margaret “Maggy” Collins Taylor and Hattie Collins McKay, both of Indianapolis; and Inez Collins Traylor of Columbus. Mr. Collins was also survived by nephews, Jason, Matt and Ric McKay; Shane and Rocky Taylor; Chris and Dylan Traylor; a niece, Lena Traylor Vaughn; step‐children, Tammy Hutchinson and Keith Hunter of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Bryan Toana, Corey Elliott, Bob Hutchinson and Tyler Hunter; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Dickie” Collins; and a nephew, Aaron Collins.
