Seymour
John Robert Hurless, 91, of Seymour, died at 11:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016.
Mr. Hurless served in the United States Navy during World War II from September 1943 to May 1946. He retired from the Department of the Army, Rock Island Arsenal, after 22 years of service.
Mr. Hurless is survived by his wife Thelma, of 67 years; children, John (Diane) Hurless, Jr., Kenneth (Christine) Hurless, Kay (Glen) Alden, Robert (Rebecca) Hurless; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his a great-grandson, Wesley Jaeger; two sisters, Virginia Uhland and Ruth Ford, a brother; George Hurless
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post #1925, American Legion Post # 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans all of Seymour.
Friends and family may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Voss Chapel and after 12 noon on Saturday until time of service.
