Janice L. “Jan” Jines, 69, of Indianapolis, a former Columbus resident, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Community Hospital North.
Jan was born in Davies County, Indiana, on April 12, 1946, the daughter of Oral L. and Alice Harris Baker. She married Russell A. “Rusty” Jines on March 17, 1967, in Columbus; he preceded her in death June 16, 1996.
She was a member of Sandcreek Azalia Friends Meeting. She served as Sandcreek Township Trustee from 1986 to 2010.
She is survived by daughters, Alicia K. (Matthew) Kirk of Indianapolis and Amanda G. (Dustin) Scarberry of Louisville, Kentucky; her mother, Alice Harris of Washington, Indiana; sister, Lindi Sherill of Jackson, Michigan; grandchildren, Gavin Russell and Wyatt Paul Scarberry of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband; and brother, Daniel Baker.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Fred Darling officiating.
Calling will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springer Cemetery south of Columbus.
