Bull Dog gymnasts down Panthers

Second-ranked Columbus North won all four events and took the top two spots in the all-around competition Thursday night in posting a 109.525-103.325 win against Bloomington South.

The Bull Dogs would have had a 110.525, but had a point deduction for going out of order.

Ashley Holliday won the bars (9.625) and beam (9.6) and finished second on the vault (9.2) and floor (9.425) in claiming the all-around with a 37.85. Katrina May won the vault (9.4) and floor (9.55) and took third on the bars (9.0) and beam (9.25) to place second in the all-around with a 37.2.

Tova Edwards finished fourth on the beam (8.625) and in the all-around (32.9). Claire Thompson, who did not do the vault or floor, was second on the bars (9.525) and beam (9.4).

SWIMMING

North sweeps Oldenburg

The Columbus North boys and girls swimmers swept Oldenburg Adademy. The Bull Frogs won the boys meet 132-28 and the girls meet 112-65.

Chase McQueen led the North boys with wins in the 100-yard butterfly (54.53 seconds) and 100 backstroke (56.95). Ben Thompson won the 200 freestyle (1:55.20), Paxton Rush took the 200 individual medley (2:21.45), Kaemon Jiles captured the diving competition (163.80), Jared Carroll won the 100 freestyle (51.39) and Jared Imlay took the 500 freestyle (5:03.20). The Bull Frogs also swept the 200 medley (1:50.64), 200 freestyle (1:41.46) and 400 freestyle (3:31.21) relays.

For the girls, Rachel Gutman won the 200 IM (2:30.13) and 100 butterfly (1:12.96), Cori Taylor took the 50 freestyle (28.27) and 100 backstroke (1:11.79) and Mackenzie Fry captured the 100 freestyle (55.45) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.16). Alex Nusawardhana won the 200 freestyle (2:02.46), Emma Wilson took the diving (165.30) and North claimed the 200 freestyle (1:50.27) and 400 freestyle (4:04.95) relays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Trinity tops Edinburgh

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh closed the regular season with a 54-31 loss to Trinity Lutheran.

Bri Howard led the Landers (8-14) with nine points. Allie Schooler added eight.
