Helen Marie Schaller, 90, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Schaller was born April 17, 1925, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Raymond F. and Gertrude A. Schutz Hanelt. She married Jerome D. Schaller Oct. 23, 1948. He preceded her in death March 22, 1986.
A homemaker, Mrs. Schaller was a former resident of Silver Spring, Maryland, and has been a Columbus resident since 2000.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Jerry) Sherman of Columbus and Stephanie Waikart of Piney Point, Maryland; grandchildren, Tyler and Molly Sherman of Columbus, Andy (Mary) Waikart of Leonardtown, Maryland, and Kris (Jim Vavrick) Waikart of Clifton, Virginia; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Schaller was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son-in-law, Tom Waikart.
The funeral service will be held in Silver Spring, Maryland under the direction of Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
