Crusaders win in 3 OT

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian overcame a 9-0 deficit to start the game Friday night and pulled out a 78-70 triple-overtime victory at Horizon Christian.

The Crusaders trailed by three in the closing seconds of the second overtime, but Connor Graham nailed a 3-pointer to tie it. Evan Reed’s layup to begin the third overtime sparked a 10-2 advantage in the final extra period.

“We just kept battling and kept coming back,” Columbus Christian coach Kevin Roth said.

Logan Roth scored 26 points, and Adriane Polley added 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Crusaders (20-7). Payton Ingram scored 13.

Columbus Christian outrebounded the Lions 52-31, with 20 of the Crusaders rebounds coming on the offensive end.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Horizon tops Crusaders

INDIANAPOLIS — Horizon Christian jumped out to a 19-0 lead after one quarter and went on to hand Columbus Christian a 58-16 loss.

Madison Henderson led the Crusaders (3-17) with 12 points.
