North grad selected Freshman of the Year
Columbus North graduate Sawyer Glick has been named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and is on the All-SIAC first team.
Glick, who redshirted last season, averaged 15.8 points and 4.3 rebounds a game this season for Division II Spring Hill College. He totaled 51 assists, 22 steals and nine blocked shots.
Glick shot 43.0 percent from the field, including 36.9 percent from 3-point range, and 80.3 from the free-throw line in a team-high 820 minutes played.
Meanwhile, Glick’s brother, Kooper, is averaging 12.5 points as a freshman for Rock Valley College, which is the No. 1-ranked Division III Junior College in the country.
