Schneck donates equipment to IUPUC

Schneck Medical Center in Seymour has donated four echocardiogram machines to the Indiana School of Nursing at IUPUC.The medical center upgraded its equipment and wished to donate the previous models for student education. The machines are an important part of classroom instruction in the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification training. The devices also will be used in the program’s second year academic program in student learning, EKG lead placement and rhythm interpretation in patient actor’s heart rhythms and mannequins’ rhythms.

The gift of the machines, which would have cost $40,000 if they were new, is another example of regional healthcare partners supporting the school of nursing at IUPUC, said Beth Sharer, division head.
