The Bible has plenty to say about living purposely.
That partly explains why First Christian Church will present the free retirement-related workshop “Reaching Your Summit” on April 8 and 9 at the church, 531 Fifth St. in Columbus. The gathering carries a theme, “The best way to predict the future is to plan it.”
The event will include a focus on volunteering, estate planning, Medicaid, safety, security and scams, long-term care insurance and other topics.
Organizers are aiming marketing at people in their 50s to give them a head start on a range of options.
The gathering will include a range of local speakers, from former Columbus Police Department Chief Jason Maddix to First Christian pastor the Rev. Justin White and attorney Joyce Thayer-Sword.
Registration deadline is April 4.
