North Vernon police investigate shooting

NORTH VERNON, Ind. — North Vernon Police are investigating a shooting in the 100 block of Baker Street in North Vernon.

One victim has been located and taken to the hospital at about 2:59 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, spokesman for the North Vernon Police Department. A suspect has been identified and has been arrested, Richmond said.

Police are not releasing names of the victim or suspect at this time.

Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies are assisting the police department, Richmond said.
