Bull Dogs hope to break through vs. Bloomington North

Now that it has advanced to the Bloomington South Regional, the Columbus North girls tennis team will be up against a very familiar foe in its semifinal match today.

Bloomington North, the state’s No. 20-ranked team, has notched a pair of victories against the No. 23 Bull Dogs this season — a 3-1 victory on April 18 and a 3-2 win during the Conference Indiana tournament on May 7.

Whoever emerges from today’s match should be an overwhelming favorite in Wednesday’s regional final against the other semifinal winner. Seymour will play against Shawe Memorial, which is playing in its first-ever regional.

Here’s how the matches between Bloomington North and Columbus North played out at each position during those two earlier matchups. Can the Bull Dogs manage to pick up a third point somewhere?
