2 injured following rollover in Jennings

Staff Reports

JENNINGS COUNTY — Two people were transported to Indianapolis hospitals after a one-vehicle rollover accident in rural Jennings County.

Sheriff’s deputies were sent to 3000 E. County Road 600N at about 9:37 p.m. Wednesday about a Geo Tracker that had flipped, Col. Jeffrey S. Day said.

Deputies said when they arrived, they saw that Chaena Perry, 30, of Scipio, had crawled from the vehicle. Kurtis M. Turner, 34, of Butlerville, was thrown from the vehicle and was found in a nearby pasture, Day said.

The 1996 Tracker was on its top and being held up by a livestock fence, Day said.

One of the two people in the car called for help from the scene, Day said.

Perry was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and then transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Day said. She was listed in stable condition Thursday night, hospital officials said.

Turner was transported by helicopter to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Day said. He is listed in serious condition there, hospital officials said.
