Greenwood
Dorothy J. Helt, 90, of Greenwood, formerly of Columbus, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Hearth Stones Crossing in Greenwood.
Dorothy was born in Brown County July 25, 1925, the daughter of Henry F. and Dora Milnes Brown.
She was a graduate of Columbus High School. She was office manager for Schneider Implement Company, receptionist for Dr. Bickers Dental Office and, several years ago, worked at the Columbus Planning Commission. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Tom (Barbara) Helt of Indianapolis; grandson, David (Crystal) Helt of Indianapolis; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; brothers, the Rev. Henry Brown and Joseph Brown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
