Cynthia G. George, 49, of Columbus, died at 9:53 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Cynthia, a 15-year survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, was a God-loving Christian her entire life. She loved being outdoors, gardening and raising animals such as goats and pigs. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandson Mason. Baking pies and taking long BMW convertible rides with husband, Mike, were among her favorite things to do. Mrs. George was a member of New Hope Christian Church for over 28 years and did volunteer work for Columbus Regional Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Cynthia was born in Columbus, Indiana, Feb. 11, 1967, to Ralph and Janice Carr Renner. On Sept. 29, 2003, she married Mike George in Tennessee.

Survivors include children, Rachel Rager, Courtney Rager, Jordan George, Jerad George and Rachel George, all of Columbus, Indiana; one grandson, Mason Naylor; parents, Ralph and Janice Renner; brother, Brian Renner; sister, Beth (Tim) Fields all of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester and Ellen Carr and Hubert and Mary Renner; and infant nephew, Nathan Fields.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor John Sichting officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016, and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
