Charles H. Greathouse, 83, of Columbus, died at 11:15 a.m. June 2, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.

Mr. Greathouse was a tool and die maker at Arvin Industries for over 42 years.

He was born in Brown County, Indiana, Jan. 9, 1933, to the late Ora and Mildred Sullivan Greathouse.

On Feb. 17, 1963, he married Cherene Wade in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cherene; children, Nathan Greathouse of Versailles, Kentucky, Jenni (Allen) Estes of Columbus, Debbie (Pat Kinney) Greathouse of North Vernon, Indiana, Marshall Greathouse of Commiskey, Indiana, and Paula Niccolai of North Vernon, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Clark of Columbus, Kathryn (Dwight) Davis of Columbus and Dorothy Roberts of Bloomington, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by daughter, Tayna Robin Spicer, brothers-­in-­law, Larry Clark and Don Roberts; and son­-in-­law, Nick Niccolai.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Richard Yeaton officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Full military rites will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
