Eagles headed to regional

BLOOMINGTON — Brown County qualified for regional for the first time in school history by finishing third in Friday’s Bloomington North Sectional.

The Eagles finished with a 329 at Indiana University Golf Course. Bloomington South won with a 294, and Bedford North Lawrence took second with a 304.

“We new that third spot would kind of be open for whatever team could post a good score,” Brown County coach Brad Baughman said. “I was happy with that 329. We played probably about as well as we could play.”

Aubrey Seaman led the Eagles with a 77. Parker VanNess carded a 78, Jake Dixon added an 86, Gavin Brown shot 88 and Wes Weigel had a 117.

Brown County will play in the Providence Regional Thursday at Champions Pointe. Columbus East and Columbus North also qualified for that regional with a 1-2 finish in Friday’s Greensburg Sectional.
