Columbus Symphony Orchestra’s annual outdoor pops concert goes into orbit with “Cleared For Launch.” Music director Josh Aerie will have one bold, new mission: guiding the ensemble through a mix of lunar hits, including tunes from “Star Wars,” “Star Trek” and “E.T.” The interstellar journey begins 7:30 p.m. June 12 at Mill Race Park on Fifth Street in Columbus. “Blast Off!” is the theme of the first free children’s Fun Day of the summer from Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
