Emily A. Nolting, 65, of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

She was born October 3, 1950, in Medora, Indiana, the daughter of Omer and Avanelle (Massena) Hook.

She married Harvard William “Bill” Nolting Jr. February 4, 2006, and he survives.

Emily was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She graduated from Business College in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1970. She worked at the Children’s Hospital in Louisville before coming to Schneck Medical Center where she worked for over 35 years. During her employment at Schneck, she was head secretary for George James for many years before transferring to director of volunteers for the last 15 years. After she retired, she continued to volunteer in the gift shop. Emily played tennis in Columbus and Spring Island, South Carolina. She enjoyed playing golf at Shadowood Golf Course.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; his children, Jeffrey (Brigette) Nolting and Suzie (Craig) Lehman; his four grandchildren, Charlie Nolting, Hillary Nolting, J.D. Lehman and Matthew Lehman; her two brothers: Joe (Kay) Hook and Jack (Ruth) Hook; two nieces, Jocelyn K. (Gary) Traylor and Stephanie Jo (Bruce) Countryman; two nephews, Jeffrey (Tammie) Hook and Jack Lewis (Lynne) Hook; and eight first cousins, Jerry Snook, Dian Walker, Kaye Harper, Nancy Martin, Tony Massena, Myra Sutherland and Max Sutherland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin, Judy Hook.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez and Vicar Alex Hoffmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel and after 3:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Foundation, Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center or Lutheran Community Home.
