Strand Associates Inc., a civil and environmental engineering company, joined nearly 1,200 businesses nationwide to be recognized with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists.
Strand encourages bicycling as transportation by having bike events, such as bike-to-work days, and assistance. They have indoor bicycle parking available to its employees.
“Biking to work has allowed us to ‘walk the talk’ since we are in the business of designing bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure,” said Amber Porter, project engineer and LEED Green associate.
