The Friends of Veterans Committee, a local group working to honor area veterans, has organized a free showing of the 1942 movie “Yankee Doodle Dandy.”
The movie, starring James Cagney, will be shown 10:30 a.m. July 1 at YES Cinema, Fourth and Jackson streets in downtown Columbus. The screening is for veterans and their families, according to organizers.
Informational booths will feature representatives from the Atterbury Museum, Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum, American Legion Post No. 24 and the Camp Atterbury USO.
Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. Seating is limited, so veterans and their families are encouraged to arrive early. Refreshments will also be served.
