Charles “Chuck” Buchanan, 71, of Edinburgh, passed away June 16, 2016. Born October 11, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana, Chuck was the son of Ralph and Dolores Buchanan.
On November 16, 1974, Chuck married the love of his life, Betsy Moore. Twenty years later, on November 19, 1994, they renewed their vows.
Chuck worked hard at being retired. He was a World War II history buff and spent his spare time building model airplanes. He was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1987 in Columbus and a longtime volunteer at the USO of Indiana at Camp Atterbury.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dolores Buchanan; his father-in-law, Gene Moore; and mother-in-law, Ann Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy; a brother; David (Meredith) Buchanan; a sister, Darlene (Mike) Rhodes; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday June 27, 2016, at the VFW of Columbus, 215 N. National Road, Columbus, Indiana. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
