Twelve locals nominated for Cramer Awards

Twelve local sports figures — four females and eight males — were nominated for the Jack Cramer Ideals of Athletic Competition Awards this month.

The men’s nominees were Dr. Cary M. Guse; Hauser athletic director Dave Irvine; Columbus North baseball star Collin Lollar; North coaches Kendal Hammel (girls tennis) and Pat McKee (girls basketball); retiring Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation superintendent Dr. John B. Quick; former North athletic standout Zachary A. Riley; and longtime youth basketball coach and contributor Scott Wilson.

On the women’s side, the nominees were Columbus North grad and Indiana University rowing star Rebecca Brougher; North gymnastics and track standout Katrina May; Columbus East golfer Rebecca Smith; and former East girls basketball great Allison (Lee) White.

Last year’s Cramer Award winners were Ali Patberg and the late William “Bill” Stewart.
