Beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather and friend to many, Arnold Duane Cook, 58, passed away in Longview, Texas, Tuesday, June 21, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Duane was born to Arnold Dee and Alice A. Cook on June 11, 1958, in New Castle, Indiana, where he spent the first 53 years of his life.

Duane and Alice relocated to Waskom, Texas, in 2011 to be close to their son, Chris.

Duane is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Alice Faye Cook; his three sons,Christopher (Avril) Cook, Ethan (Kristen) Cook and Benjamin Cook. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Brinley Cook; his sister, Tonya Anderson; his brother, Bert Cook; his father-­in-­law, William Snipp Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Dee Cook and Alice A. Cook.

On Oct. 11, 1980 Duane and Alice were married in Louisville, Kentucky, and enjoyed 35 years of marriage. Duane’s life was well lived and he was well loved. He loved a good laugh, even at himself, and he enjoyed each moment spent with family and friends. He attended Lighthouse Holiness Tabernacle Church.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. The funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Dalton and the Rev. Stacy Holden officiating. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery in Waskom, Texas.
