S. Joan Huntsman Moore, 81, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:04 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joan was born March 1, 1935, in Columbus, to the Rev. Roy W. and Mary Marguerite Runshe Huntsman. She married Bernard L. Moore September 25, 1953. He preceded her in death January 23, 1973.

Joan was a 1952 graduate of Columbus High School and was a former office manager at Reed & Jewell Funeral Home, retiring after 26 years of service.

A faithful member of Calvary Nazarene Church, she cherished the time she spent with family and enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and a good game of Scrabble.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Betsy (Tim) Wilkerson of Indianapolis and Peggy (Scott) Durnal of Columbus; son-in-law, Larry (Joan) Allman of Columbus; grandchildren, Bethany (Jeffrey) Everroad of Columbus, Heather and Annie Durnal of Columbus, Seth, Chloe and Caleb Wilkerson of Indianapolis and Rob (Marie) Allman of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Aiden Gomez and Robbie, Blake, Abbie, Sofie, and Gretchen Allman; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Huntsman of Missouri and Rita Moore Wise of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; children, Brenda Jo Allman and Timothy L. Moore; brothers, Robert, Eddie Wayne and Norman Huntsman; sister, Patty Lowman; and a great-grandson, Isaiah Allman.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Shane Rocker officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.

Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
