Columbus police promote Nelson

The Columbus Police Department has promoted Curtis Nelson from the rank of officer to the rank of sergeant.

Nelson is a six-year veteran who serves in various capacities, including patrol officer, firearms instructor, CPD Honor Guard and SWAT Team leader. He also is a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, according to a news release.

“Sgt. Nelson was selected from a group of very qualified applicants. His experience and leadership skills are an asset to our department,” Columbus Police Chief Jon Rohde said.
