Program seeks donors for school supplies

The Bartholomew County School Supply Assistance Program is seeking financial contributions to provide school supplies to more than 2,000 children locally.

In addition to the local effort, the program is working with local residents and West Virginia natives Tina O’Dell and Rob Smith, Cummins employees, who are collecting contributions for areas affected by flooding in West Virginia.

Contributions to the assistance program will also help schools in Clay, Greenbrier, Kanawha and Nicholas counties in West Virginia, where many businesses that provide school supplies to low-income families have been destroyed.

In 2015, more than 2,300 students in Bartholomew County received free school supplies.

Financial donations that will allow the program to make bulk purchases may be made payable and sent to Sans Souci, 1526 13th St., Columbus, IN, 47201, by listing school supplies in the memo area or donate online at bcssap.org.
