State Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz will attend the Democratic Party Picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The event will be in a barn at 9846 E. County Road 50N being made available by Jeff Schroer.
Ritz is expected to arrive and speak between 1:45 and 2 p.m. Saturday.
Others attending include 6th District Congressional candidate Barry Welsh and Bartholomew County Democratic candidates.
The picnic, which is free and open to the public, will feature pulled pork, brisket, hot dogs, ice tea and lemonade, as well as musical entertainment and games. Serving will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Guests are asked to bring their favorite side dish or dessert and folding chairs.
