Purdue Extension Bartholomew County has a few openings in its Master Gardener weekly educational sessions Aug. 19 through Nov. 18. Today is the final day to register for the program.
The training offers a learning framework for participants to increase their knowledge on a wide range of horticulture subjects. In return, participants contribute knowledge, leadership and service in educational gardening activities within the community. Thirty five hours of volunteer service are needed for participants to certify as a Master Gardener.
Training is planned 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays at various classrooms and garden locations. Material cost is about $70, depending on the format. Fee assistance is available.
