The last Friday of each month is turning into a food fest at North Vernon Park with vendors setting up trucks to serve meals.
“We tried it last month and it went reasonably well, so we are doing it again this month and each month through November,” said Sue Fenton, who helped organized the event.
Food trucks will be expected at the city park, located on State Street, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
“We just thought it would be fun to have the kind of food you can get at fairs and just let people relax under the trees and enjoy the atmosphere of the park, something families can do together,” Fenton said.
Fenton added that she would like to see at least three main course food trucks and several types of dessert vendors participate in the future.
Those who come to dine should bring blankets or chairs, she added.
