Elizabethtown
Karen L. Stout, 70, of Elizabethtown, died at 5:56 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Karen was born December 21, 1945, in Seymour, the daughter of Gene J. and Betty J. Ackeret Stout.
She graduated in 1964 from North Vernon High School and in 1966 from Southern Ohio Business College. She retired from Cummins Engine Company January 31, 2012, after 47 years of service. She was a member of Elizabethtown Christian Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.
Survivors include her sister, Phyllis (Bob) Crase of Columbus; an aunt, Lena Kilgas of Reddington; nieces, Kristina (Bill) Bergman of Elizabethtown and Karen (Tom) Wetherald of Columbus; a great-niece, Ashlyn Bergman; and a great-nephew, Crase Bergman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her fiancé, Arthur Reece.
