Fourth Street paver work begins Monday

Fourth Street paver work slated to begin Monday

Repairs will begin Monday to pavers along Fourth Street in Columbus, along the sidewalk and center drain areas.

Decorative Paving Co. is removing pavers, installing stone, and compacting and returning the pavers to their place, city officials said.

The repairs should minimize tripping hazards that have developed due to the pavers settling.

The company is estimating it will take about one week for each block to be completed.

But if there are rain delays, the company’s contract allows until Sept. 16 to complete the work.

The work will start with the east block of Fourth Street between Washington and Franklin on Monday and then move to the west block, city officials said. Fourth Street between Jackson and Washington streets will be done the week of Sept. 6. No work will be performed on Labor Day.
