Bessie Lillian Anderson, 77, of Greensburg, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born September 26, 1938, in Rockcastle, Kentucky, Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late John and Eliza Jane Renner Bustle. She married Earl C. Anderson Sr. on June 17, 1960, in Shelbyville. He  survives.

Mrs. Anderson was a 1957 graduate of Versailles High School in Versailles. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and reading. One of her favorite sayings was “Crossing the river is not that bad, getting down the bank is the hardest part.” Mrs. Anderson was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon where she had been a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving with her husband, Earl C. Anderson Sr. of Greensburg, are sons, Earl C. (Michelle Leigh) Anderson Jr. and Neil Richard Anderson, all of Greensburg; a granddaughter, Leah Suzanne Anderson of Greensburg; brothers, Glen (Margie) Bustle of Versailles and Louie (Ellen) Bustle of Shawnee, Kansas; and a sister, Mae (Leroy) McClure of Louisville, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles, Denver, Jesse and Jim Bustle; and sisters, Virgie Mink and Flonie Williamson.

Funeral service for Mrs. Anderson will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon, with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds and Rev. Louie Bustle officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 2, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Greensburg.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jesus Film through First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon.
