Eunice A. Mays, 88, of Columbus, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus.

She was born in Greensburg November 10, 1927, the daughter of John and Goldie Elliott Angel. She married Robert “Dutch” Mays February 2, 1969, in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death August 14, 2003.

She was co-owner and bookkeeper of Dutch’s Body Shop.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Spurlin of Columbus; a daughter, Linda Spurlin of Spokane, Washington; a brother, David Elliott of Shelbyville; a sister, Tonya Waltz of Franklin; grandchildren, Jolinda (Pat) Smiar of Taylorsville, Tanjanna (Abe) Skinner of Columbus, Brad (Heather) Anderson of Columbus and Stephanie (Josh) Shephard of Columbus; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, George Elliott.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hebron Cemetery in Adams, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.
