Former North Vernon officer arrested on misconduct charge

A former police officer has been arrested on charges of official misconduct from her time on the North Vernon Police Department.

Brandy Blevins, 43, of North Vernon, was arrested Monday by the Indiana State Police on a warrant issued by the Jennings County Circuit Court. Arrest charges include one count each of official misconduct and forgery, both of which are a Level 6 felony, and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

Indiana State Police detectives served the warrant on Blevins Monday afternoon and she was taken into custody without incident and incarcerated at the Jennings County Jail, according to a media release from the Indiana State Police.
