HIV testing offered free in Columbus

Indiana University Health will offer free, rapid HIV testing in walk-in appointments Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Doug Otto Center at United Way of Bartholomew County, 1531 13th St., Columbus.

The testing is being offered by IU Health Positive Link, a program of Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital Community Health.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 be tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care. The confidential testing will use a gum swab and takes about 20 minutes for results to be returned. No blood draw is necessary.
