Police investigate 2 more overdoses in Columbus

Columbus police investigated two more reported drug overdoses that occurred in the city within an hour’s time.

The unrelated incidents were reported after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved separate adult victims at different locations, police said.

Both victims survived, but no further information was available as press time as both were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment, police said.

Police are continuing to seek information about nine overdose cases that occurred in Bartholomew County over the weekend, including seven believed to involve heroin, one involving methamphetamine and one involving LSD.

The latest series of overdoses follows a string of 17 overdose victims in Jackson and Jennings counties on Aug. 12, which involved one death.
