Columbus North homecoming festivities underway

It’s homecoming week at Columbus North, which has chosen a patriotic theme, “Bull Dogs Rule from Sea to Shining Sea.”

Homecoming opponent for Friday’s football game is the Terre Haute North Patriots, with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Students are participating in special dress themes this week, which began with Hat Day on Monday and Hawaiian Day on Tuesday. That continues today with Jersey Day and finishes up with Twin Day on Thursday and USA Day on Friday, said Mary Hamlin, North High School student assembly sponsor.

The high school’s annual tricycle race convocation starts around 1:15 p.m. Friday on the football field. Students and staff have created teams and race small and large tricycles. This year’s homecoming king will be crowned at halftime of the tricycle races, which will end at 3:15 p.m. The homecoming queen will be announced at halftime of the football game.
