Area teams prepare to begin postseason

Boys tennis sectional action takes place this week across the state. Columbus North will host four other local teams in a sectional, while Jennings County also will host a sectional, and Trinity Lutheran will play in the Seymour Sectional. A look at the North Sectional:

4:30 p.m. Wednesday: Columbus East vs. Columbus North

4:30 p.m. Thursday: Columbus East-Columbus North winner vs. Edinburgh and Hauser vs. Brown County

4:30 p.m. Friday: Championship

Bloomington South Regional

The winner at Columbus North will meet the winner at Seymour, and the winner at Jennings County will play the winner at Bloomington South Oct. 4 in the semifinals of the Bloomington South Regional. The regional final is Oct. 5.

The winner of the Bloomington South regional advances to the Jasper Semistate, where it would play the winner of the Jasper Regional at noon Oct. 8. The state quarterfinals are at 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at Carmel and Center Grove, and the state semifinals and finals are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at North Central.
