Charlotte V. Stroup, 90, of Hope, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, at her home.

Charlotte had been a housewife and enjoyed newspaper scrapbooking.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Andy Kilps officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born November 5, 1925, in Columbus, Charlotte was the daughter of Andy and Ruth Ferguson Mullis. She married Eber Stroup Jr. January 8, 1944, at his grandparents’ home in North Vernon. He preceded her in death October 17, 1993.

Survivors include children, Sharon (David) Bruner, Tim Stroup, Bobby Stroup and Joe (Penny) Stroup, all of Hope, Carroll “Cookie” (Joyce) Stroup of Proctor, Oklahoma, and Mark (Melinda) Stroup of North Vernon; grandchildren, Matthew Bruner, Amanda Fleenor, Katrina Henry and Kylie Griffin, all of Hope, Jason Stroup, Adam and Patrick Stroup of Taylorsville, Zoey Stroup of North Vernon, Stacey Baker of Grimesland, North Carolina, Richard Stroup of Muncie, Indiana, and Carmela Stroup of Proctor, Oklahoma; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Max Mullis of Hope.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Raymond, Don, Bobbie, James and William Carroll Mullis; and sisters, Rovena Hartwell and Patricia Mullis.
