Crusaders down Hornets

Columbus Christian overcame a third-set setback to recover for a 25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 25-13 win against Medora on Monday night.

Savannah Herron recorded 10 kills and five aces, and Sabrina Herron tallied 15 assists and five aces to lead the Crusaders (15-3). Madison Henderson and Mayah Schundemeier each had one block, and Hannah Lorimor and Hannah Stair each notched 10 digs.

Henderson also pounded five kills. Lorimor served four aces.

Trinity tops South Decatur

GREENSBURG — Trinity Lutheran won the battle of the Cougars, beating South Decatur 25-12, 25-15, 25-12.

Lexi Schneider pounded seven kills, and Courtney Barker served four aces to lead Trinity (11-12).

Abby Schult and Sydney Stahl each added four kills, and Whitney Rogers and Schneider each had two aces.

Brooke Helms led South Decatur (7-21) with eight kills and two aces. Taylor Best recorded nine assists, Sam Goodfellow had one solo and one assist block and Kayla Carder notched 20 digs.

Shiners oust Cougars

RISING SUN — Trinity Lutheran saw its season come to an end with a 4-3 loss to Rising Sun in the opening round of the Rising Sun Sectional.

Sidney Hoene, Kristin Hoene and Maddie Bell scored the goals for the Cougars (2-11).
