City announces leaf pickup program

The Columbus Department of Public Works will be collecting loose leaves curbside on the same day as trash collection on residential streets.

To have leaves picked up, residents need to have them on the curb by 7 a.m.

The city is requesting that residents refrain from placing leaves in the street as they can clog storm drains.

Leaves in bags will not be collected but can be taken to the compost site at 720 S. Mapleton St. and dumped out.
