Richard L. Tuell, 86, of Columbus, passed away on October 3, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mr. Tuell was an U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from Cummins. He loved to travel and visited all 50 states and several other countries. In addition to traveling, Richard loved fishing, camping and was a huge Chicago Cubs fan.

Mr. Tuell never met a stranger and loved to be part of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon Joann (Myers) Tuell of Columbus; children, Shannon (Gary) White of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Sheila (Larry) Spurling of Evansville, Tim (Deana) Tuell of Columbus and Shawn (Karen) Tuell of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Jason, Shelley, Michael, Mitchell and Aubree; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11: a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Myers-Reed Chapel, Columbus, with Pastor Charles Aigner officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Bartholomew County Combined Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
